Punti Suite is one level above the reception desk of the Hotel, across the north-east Tower of 'Kouloukas'
It is a characteristic sample of the architecture used at Mesta houses.
There are two living rooms in the suite. One with a fireplace and an open space one, with a sky window.
At Mesta 'Punti' is called the open space inhouse room, which is circumscribed by the walls of other rooms of the same or the neighboor houses. This is the way one can access the terrace (aksata) of the house.
A period of continuous catastrophic pirate and conquerors' invasions after the 6th century A.D., forced the villagers living scattered in the areas around, to merge and build the village-castle of Mesta in which all houses are one next to the other, with common walls. It is worth mentioning that one can take a walk around the hole village, by walking on the terraces (aksata)
The utility of the 'punti' in these houses was multipurpose. Not only it was an oxygen and light source, but also as a place where villages used to work (clean up the mastic, peal and dry the almonds; wash the cloths etc.) In addition, it was an ideal place for gathering up, when the weather permitted so.
